Show Australian jockeys that you think less is more when it comes to whips.
Email a photo of you (perhaps in your raceday best) holding a Less is more sign to post@rspcalessismore.posterous.com, along with your name and email address somewhere in the message body.
We want to show the Australian Racing Board and the Australian Jockeys Association these photos as an indication of public support for this issue, so make sure your friends get involved too!
All submissions will be held briefly for moderation to ensure contributions are tasteful.
After Oaks Day (Thursday 5 November), one entry will receive a copy of the Peter Alexander 2010 Calendar.

WHIPS IN RACES - LESS IS MORE AND NOT AT ALL IS THE BEST
To the Jockeys and ARB:
It would be far better not to use whips on horses in races because it is cruel. You can still have the races without the whips. It looks cruel when you see the jockeys whipping their horses and it is. If someone whips us it hurts so the same applies to the horses. It is not fair and it is not necessary and it should stop. Better for jockeys to show good horsemanship without the whips. The fact that people are still using whips in races really shows that they do not really care about their horses, only the money they bring in. I enjoy watching the spring carnival because I like seeing the beautiful horses but I don't like seeing them being whipped in the races. Definitately less is more but I think they should not be used at all.
